Max steampunk exterior with its giant gear wheel and truck-hood door

Max

A steampunk dwelling of brass, gears, and imagination, perched on the mountainside against stunning Blue Ridge scenery.

The Dwelling

Part Victorian parlor, part inventor's workshop — a dwelling built out of brass, gears, and pure imagination.

Max sits out on the mountainside like something a mad Victorian tinkerer dreamed up between inventions — warm gold siding, enormous gears, a great spoked wheel, and a truck hood mounted above the front door. The deck reaches toward the Blue Ridge, rolling away blue and endless below.

Inside, the steampunk spell takes hold: a wall of interlocking gears and gauges, a caged industrial pendant glowing amber overhead, brass fixtures and Edison bulbs, a deep grey sofa and a jewel-teal velvet chair, and a bed dressed in white linen with the mountains framed in the window beside it. It is cozy and clever all at once — every corner has something to look at.

It is the dwelling for the dreamers and the curious — and because it is pet-friendly (bring up to two dogs), the whole family gets to come along.

The Story

Where Victorian romance meets the age of steam

Steampunk is what happens when Victorian elegance meets the machine age — brass and iron, gears and gauges, and the beautiful workings of old machines turned into art. Max wears it honestly: wheels and mechanical details across the siding, an industrial lantern inside, and the unmistakable truck hood over the front door.

The effect is romantic and a little bit magic — a dwelling that feels like the study of an inventor who ran off to the mountains. High in the Land of the Sky, it is a place to wind down, linger over coffee, and watch the light change on the ranges.
