The character behind this dwelling is Pennywhistle: a traveling shopkeeper who never passed a market stall, attic trunk, or forgotten shelf without looking twice. She collected objects for the question they raised — an hourglass with no sand, a row of colored bottles, a birdcage waiting for a bird that might never arrive.
Her parlour was never meant to be a serious apothecary. It was a place for bright ideas, odd experiments, and the kind of conversation that starts when someone asks, “What do you think this does?” The room carries that spirit through its lights, trunks, orbs, brooms, and bottles.
The story is an invitation to look closely. Nothing needs to levitate or speak in riddles; the pleasure is in noticing what Penny might have placed there next.
